The best Bob shows I have seen took place after the departure of Bucky Baxter, and before the addition of George Recile.
Favorites of mine from that era do not necessarily translate perfectly to tape due to other considerations, such as recordist location gear, and crowd noise. For instance:
Park West 10-26-1999 late show (Talky) Milwaukee 10-30-1999 (talky) Santa Cruz 3-15&16-2000 (AMAZING but not entirely without crowd noise) Columbia MO 4-24-2001 (PERFECT!) Larosse WI 10-24-2001 (drunk-talky) St Paul MN 10-25-2001 (good)
discuss. . .
PS I think the presence of HIGHLANDS in a set is a "good omen"!! ;D

Oh yeah! I'm a big fan of the '99 stuff......I'd have to go back and listen to more of the '00 and '01 stuff though.
In my opinion, Dylan was on fire in '99.
