Don't get too excited; this is a Dylan-related recording, not a Dylan recording.
On February 8, 1963, a few hours before he recorded the "Banjo Tape" in the Gerdes basement, Peter Siegel went a bit further down 4th Street and recorded Bill Monroe's concert at New York University. It was by some reports Monroe's Manhattan debut (I don't think that's accurate, but it might have been his first headline spot/full concert.) But it was a concert that would have been important to the Village folk community and, given Dylan's comments about Bill and Charlie Monroe, I think he's likely to have been there. Maybe one or two of those unidentified fragments on the Banjo Tape are Dylan taking a stab at covering a Monroe number he'd just heard. (But not the "Lonesome Road" song Monroe played; it looked good, but the lyrics don't match up at all.)

which I have cut-and-pasted my own self. You may notice a few songs Dylan played in the early 60's on it.
And remember, if you want to be a Bluegrass Boy, you have to play the music the way it wants you to play it.
